Welcome to the website for the 8th Annual U.S.-Russian Investment Symposium. Founded in 1997 at Harvard University, US-RIS brings together Harvard professors, key members of the financial community, government officials and business leaders for a results-oriented Symposium designed to illuminate Russia’s investment climate. Officially collaborating with the U.S. Department of Commerce, we work closely with both the U.S. and Russian Governments to create an event that will serve your interests and contribute to strengthening business ties between our two countries. As President Putin pointed out in a recent July 2004 address to Russian diplomats, relations with U.S. businesses must be improved. “Good trusting contacts on the level of leadership of both countries foster close cooperation...but for a stable and strategic partnership... business must be interested in constructive, good relations with Russia.”

• The 8th US-RIS will be held in Washington, DC to provide participants access to the exciting 2004 election year environment. US-RIS will be held at the stately Omni Shoreham Hotel right after the World Bank meetings earlier in the week.





• Special Pre-Symposium Workshops taught by Harvard Business School Professors on October 6th followed by a VIP tour of the U.S. Capitol





• Dual Executive Interview with U.S. Commerce Secretary Donald Evans and Russian Trade Minister German Gref*.





• Special Advisor Andrei Illarionov and Minister Leonid Reiman will each deliver a special address. Andrei Illarionov's address is on Energy, the Kyoto Protocal, and Economic Growth.





• Energy Industry highlighted through a close collaboration with U.S. Department of Energy and Secretary Spencer Abraham will deliver a special address.

• Maurice R. Greenberg, Chairman & CEO of AIG, will be featured at our gala dinner and during an executive by Maria Bartiromo of CNBC TV.





• Special presentation by Harvard Business School Professor Robert Kaplan, co-Creator of The Balanced Scorecard, in advance of his exclusive speaking tour in Russia.
